Bus Driver >>
Class B with Passenger endorsement.
DEPARTMENT: Transportation
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Transportation Supervisor, Bus Driver will transport adults with developmental disabilities to and from Desert Arc facilities and other assigned locations. Bus Driver will follow a preplanned route according to a definite time schedule. Bus Driver will regulate heating equipment and ventilation of bus for comfort of passengers. Bus Drivers are responsibility for the safety of the passengers in loading and unloading and transportation to and from destinations. Bus Driver will keep bus clean by ensuring that their bus is free of debris and orders. Bus Driver will inspect bus before starting their route for such things a water, gas, oil and mechanical condition etc. Bus Driver will keep operational records and report any defects or problems to their supervisor before starting their route.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid Class B California Driver License with Passenger Endorsement
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- CHP Special Drivers Certificate (VDDP)
- Clean DMV Clear background check and pass DOT Alcohol and Substance Abuse testing
- Attend all safety and required training classes
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely transport clients to and from Desert Arc
- Be courteous and assist clients boarding the bus and be professional in conduct and appearance at all times
- Complete daily vehicle inspections, complete required vehicle logs and complete vehicle condition reports on a daily basis
- Inspect vehicle at the beginning and end of each day to ensure the vehicle is clean and report any defects
- Ensures First Aid and Bloodborne Pathogen kits are full and updated, ensures vehicle has strap cutter, fire extinguisher (charged), reflective triangles, vehicle registration, serviceable tie downs and that all seats belts are in working order
- Report in writing any mechanical problems on a pre-trip and post trip inspection form
- Ensures wheelchair tie-downs procedures are followed correctly
- Ensures vehicle is fueled daily or as needed
- Other duties as assigned
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure vehicle is washed inside and out regularly and appearance is maintained at all times

Community Support Facilitator >>
Must have 1 yr experience working with our clientele, valid CA driver's license, car insurance and registration .
DEPARTMENT: For Your Independence (FYI)
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the For Your Independence Manager, CSF works with clients who live in their own homes throughout the community. CSF will work with clients to assist them with the goals outlined to live successfully on their own. CSF must be willing to participate in on-going training to increase their knowledge of the FYI programs purpose and philosophy. CSF must submit all necessary paperwork and documentation pertaining to their client's services and be accessible 24/7 in the event of an emergency. CSF must have a valid California Driver License and use their own vehicle and provide valid vehicle insurance and proof of vehicle registration.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Driver License
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Clean DMV record and Clear background check
- Valid vehicle insurance and proof of vehicle registration
- One year experience working with Developmentally Disabled population
- Attend all safety and required training classes
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for understanding the FYI intake process, consumer orientation assessment and service design
- Be courteous, professional in conduct and appearance at all times
- Provide accurate programming as outlined in the Individual Support Plans
- Provide individualized and structured supported living services
- Build and maintain an effective Circle of Support, initiate and maintain effective working relationships with the clients and other appropriate referral agency representatives
- Evaluate and report to the department manager all risks of endangerment to the health, safety and well being of their clients
- Follow all HIPPA guidelines and regulations
- Provide all daily and/or ongoing notes monthly or when requested by department manager

B-Mod Instructor >>
Some experience working with the developmentally disabled preferred.
DEPARTMENT: Behavioral Programs
SUMMARY: Work in group setting with clients who have behavioral issues in various job environments either on site or off-site locations that may last more than one day. Instructor must be able to handle various types of behaviors and work within a team setting to handle behavioral incidents.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Driver License
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Clean DMV record and Clear background check
- Valid vehicle insurance and proof of vehicle registration
- Attend all safety and required training classes
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES BEHAVIORAL INSTRUCTOR:
- Monitor clients at all times as assigned
- Communicate with the Floor Supervisor, off-site Supervisor and Program Manager
- Complete client timesheets on a daily basis
- Satisfactorily complete training and remain current in Crisis Prevention and Active Treatment Crisis Management
- Maintain acceptable attendance standards as describe in the employee handbook
- Complete all required daily client documentation as needed
- Maintain a professional working relationship with Behavioral Consultant and the Behavioral Program team structure
- Be able to work in various job environments with assigned clients performing specialized job duties which are subject to change on a daily basis
- Assist clients with daily job duties to meet enclave or job standards
- Report all incidents regarding health, safety or behavioral incidents to a supervisor immediately and be on-site until required reporting and situation is resolved satisfactorily by management

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES BUS AIDE:
- Safely assist in the transportation of clients to and from Desert Arc
- Be courteous while assisting clients on and off the bus and be professional in conduct and appearance at all times
- Assist wheelchair client's by ensuring wheelchair tie-downs procedures are followed correctly
- Ensures client's physical and emotional needs are met and the safety of the client's are monitored during transportation in a Desert Arc vehicle
- Ensures that their route bus is clean, free from orders and ready for use
- Report any problems concerning the vehicle

REPORTS TO: Behavioral Supervisor
Direct Care Staff (Part Time) >>
Some experience working with the developmentally disabled preferred.
DEPARTMENT: Adult Day Center
SUMMARY: Direct Care Staff is responsible for working in a group setting to ensure that the clients meet daily objectives i.e., hygiene needs, behavior issues, assisting with meals, staying focused on task and reposition clients as needed. Staff will be responsible for daily objectives for any off site activities. Direct Care Staff will maintain the work site in neat and clean fashion and is responsible for all work activity materials. Charting of clients daily progress will be done on a daily basis.
Bus Aide is responsible for physically aiding client's with boarding and exiting buses and overseeing the behavior of clients during transporting to and from Desert Arc to avoid any distraction to the Bus Driver. Bus Aide must be alert to client's physical and emotional needs and must be prepared to react promptly to avoid any behaviors during transportation.

- Ability to lift 40 lbs and able to stoop, bend, push and pull up to 40 lbs
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES DIRECT CARE STAFF:
- Assist consumers to meet objectives as stated in ISP
- Accurately chart consumer's progress in daily notes and other reports as needed
- Assist with consumers who exhibit maladaptive behaviors and implement plan as stated in ISP
- Assist consumers with varying levels of independence in completing activities of daily living
- Obtain and utilize class B driving license for use as bus driver during community activities
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Enclave Job Coach >>

DEPARTMENT: Enclave
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Field Supervisor, Enclave Job Coach is responsible for monitoring a work crew in various job settings. Enclave Job Coach must complete all necessary paperwork, understanding and working with each client's objectives, goals and plans. Enclave Job Coach is responsible for motivating clients to stay on task, promote and supervise the safety of clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Driver License
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Clean DMV record and clear background check and may be subject to additional clearance as required
- Attend all safety and required training classes
- Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills
- Must have reliable transportation with proof of current vehicle insurance
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain close contact with the Field Supervisor regarding all aspects of consumers program
- Complete all paperwork on a timely basis as required by funding source using the person centered planning format, to include but not limited to Monthly Calendar, IHSP tracking form, Daily Progress reports, Quarterly, Semi Annual and Annual Review paperwork
- Assess and work on barriers that may arise to assist clients in maintaining placement
- Supervise clients during working hours on an enclave including breaks and lunches (does not apply to I.P. Job Coach)
- Provide emergency client intervention as needed
- Motivate clients to stay on task, promote and supervise the safety of clients
- Provide clients attendance, billing information to Field Supervisor in a timely manner
- Provide excellent customer service
- Complete safety survey on a regular basis
- Communicate all necessary information to the field Supervisor on a regular basis
- Must be a client advocate at all times

DEPARTMENT: Facilities
SHIFT:
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Janitorial Supervisor, Instructor is responsible for understanding and working with each client’s objectives, goals and plans. Instructor is responsible for accurate, thorough and timely completion of all clients reporting. Landscape Instructor is responsible for the facility grounds and teaching a work crew the proper and safe landscape techniques.
REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Driver License
- First Aid and CPR Certification
- Clean DMV record and clear background check
- Attend all safety and required training classes
- 1 - 2 years of landscape experience in residential and commercial setting
- 1 – 2 years of oversight responsibilities of a work crew
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understand and work on each client’s objectives, goals and plans
- Have working knowledge of landscape duties including edging, mowing, trimming including trees and bushes, weeding and including minor sprinkler repair
- Accurate, thorough and timely completion of all client reporting
- Instruct, train and supervise clients and work with Case Managers to resolve any issues involving clients
- Motivate clients to stay on task, promote and supervise the safety of clients
- Cooperation and communication with supervisors regarding all aspects of the department
- Communicate on a regular basis with Case Manager, Program Managers, Supervisors and Directors
- Complete client timesheets on a daily basis
- Satisfactorily complete training and remain current in Crisis Prevention and Active Treatment Crisis Management
- Maintain acceptable attendance standards as describe in the employee handbook
